Bernardo Bertolucci torna dopo quasi 10 anni di distanza dall'ultimo capolavoro The Dreamers e si riconferma, con IO e TE, grandissimo conoscitore dell'animo umano con le sue inquietudini e malesseri.

Un'intima trama, tratta dall'omonimo romanzo di Nicolò Ammaniti, che ha saputo con il solo sfondo di uno scantinato e la presenza di due giovani ragazzi (il bravissimo Jacopo O.Antinori e la bella Sonia Bergamasco) catturare e fotografare perfettamente il "male di vivere" che molti giovani rischiano di conoscere e che porta, in alcuni casi, ad un'autodistruzione disarmante.

"IO e TE", a prescindere dai vari giudizi e critiche soggettive, ritengo davvero sia un buon cinema a partire dalla stessa regia fino ad arrivare alle musiche straordinarie: nella tracklist compaiono successi globali come Sing for Absolution dei Muse, Boys don't Cry dei The Cure e una magnifica sorpresa che ha letteralmente incantato le mie orecchie, ovvero, Ragazzo solo-versione italiana di Space Oddity di David Bowie-il cui testo italiano è di Mogol...cantata proprio da Mr. Bowie...poesia pura!

Bernardo Bertolucci is back after almost 10 years his last masterpiece, The Dreamers, and confirm once again, with the last movie "ME and YOU", to be a great expert of the human soul with its anxieties and pains.
 
An intimate story, from Nicolò Ammaniti's novel, that catch and highlight, with the only background of a basement and the presence of two young boys ( the brilliant Jacopo O.Antinori and the beautiful Sonia Bergamasco), the "pain of living" and the anxiety that many young people are likely to know which leads, in some cases, a disarming self-destruction.

Un loft con alti soffitti, soppalco ed uno spazio centrale esterno organizzati con estrema cura per un' immagine complessiva unica, resa ancora più armonica dall'attenzione rivolta ai dettagli.
AreaDocks è sicuramente un locale di charm, ma la classicità del posto non lascia spazio a rigidi dettami, anzi il clima è molto più rilassato di quanto si possa immaginare.



A loft with high ceilings and an outside central space organized with extreme care, for an overall image made even more unique and harmonic by the attention paid to details.
AreaDocks is definitely a charming place, but its classicism leaves no room for rigid dictates and the atmosphere is even much more relaxed than you might suppose.

Una visita con acquisto, quasi fisiologico, all'interno dell'esclusivo Concept Store non può di certo rendere indifferenti semplici curiosi ed attenti coolhunters: arredamento, oggetti di Design, fiori, libri, tutto sembra comunicare perfettamente con l'ambiente circostante.

Band of the Week: DJANGO DJANGO

Alcuni di voi, sicuramente, li conosceranno già e si saranno già scombussolati per bene con il loro British sound che mixa electro-glitch e neo-psychedelia con melodie tropicali.
Sto parlando dei DJANGO DJANGO, il quartetto Scozzese incontratosi alla Scuola d'Arte di Edimburgo e formatosi nel 2009 quando il cantante e chittarista Vincent Neff decise di aiutare il batterista, produttore e frontman David Maclean, contribuendo alla registrazione di alcune sue canzoni.
Increduli, ma forti della loro passione creativa e da sempre attivi nel panorama artistico-musicale, si imbattono da subito in un'avventura divenuta successo immediato.
Volti puliti, direi molto english e un album Art-Rock - termine derivante dalla loro stessa formazione che subisce influenze di arte e musica contemporaneamente - considerato e classificato uno dei migliori debutti del 2012.
Vi ricordo l'uscita dell'album il 30 Gennaio scorso. Un successo senza precedenti!.

Some of you surely know them and you have already messed up with their British sound that mixes electro-glitch and neo-psychedelia with tropical melodies. 
I'm talking about DJANGO DJANGO, the Scottish quartet met at art school in Edinburgh and formed in 2009 when singer and guitarist Vincent Neff approached drummer, producer and bandleader David Maclean, about helping him record some songs. 
Unbelieving in the situation, but with a strong creative passion and always active in the artistic-musical area (all of them had considered art and design their true calling), they started an adventure became an immediate success.
Clean, very english faces and Art-Rock album - term derived from their own training influences of art and music - considered and ranked one of the best debuts of 2012.  
They released their self-titled debut album on 30 January 2012.
We have the full band with bassist Jimmy Dixon and synth operator Tommy Grace.

Sal, Dean, Chad e Carlo sono i protagonisti della Beat Generation degli anni'50, inglobati in una nebulosa fatta di euforia, irrequietezza, alienazione ed angoscia, ma anche libertà sessuale, trasgressione che sfocia inesorabilmente in depressione individuale.
Quello che registra Jack Kerouac nel suo racconto autobiografico non è solo un viaggio coast to coast tra giovani speranzosi alla ricerca della propria libertà d'espressione, ma la metafora di una condizione sociale molto più profonda, ovvero, l'angoscia esistenziale.

Fotografia perfetta del quadro socio-culturale del tempo, ma contenuti alquanto discutibili: dialoghi ridotti ai minimi termini, in compenso le scene di sesso friendly sono amplificate all'ennesima potenza.

Sal, Dean, Chad and Carlo are the protagonists of the Beat Generation of the 50s, embedded in a huge cloud made of euphoria, restlessness, alienation and anxiety, but even sexual freedom, transgression that leads to individual depression. 
What Jack Kerouac records in his autobiography is not just a cross-country adventure between young hopefuls in search of their freedom of expression, but a metaphor of a much deeper social status, that is the existential angst. 

Perfect picture of the social -cultural context of that time, but questionable content: minimized dialogues, on the other hand the sex friendly scenes are amplified.

Mi complimento con il mio amico Bryant per questo potente, straordinario film-documentario che segue le vite e le esperienze di quattro artisti-performers nelle dure ed oscure viscere metropolitane newyorkesi: violinisti, jazz & bluesmen, chittaristi e cantanti folk, un numero crescente di musicisti che hanno trasformato gli angoli dark della città in uno spazio artistico-culturale stimolante e travolgente, dove la sola musica, per un attimo, riesce a liberarti da stress e malumore.
Cogliere l'essenza di ciò che serve per essere un musicista e la realtà psicologica che sta dietro alla performance tanto impegnativa quanto crudele, come il suo pubblico a volte indifferente altre coinvolgente.
Uno spaccato dello scenario culturale newyorkese, trasmesso con grande umanità e forte partecipazione. Una nuova prospettiva per conoscere la città attraverso gli occhi di chi la osserva e vive, quotidianamente, con determinazione ed entusiasmo.

Per anni questo accessorio, irrinunciabile per uomini di classe che vestivano abiti eleganti negli 80's, è stato messo un pò da parte.
Probabilmente decontestualizzandolo anche il suo significato è un pò cambiato, da status symbol qual'era-segno distintivo di sicurezza e rigore stilistico- è diventato nel tempo un accessorio più infomale: eleganza disinvolta ad un abbigliamento più sportivo.
In questi termini, il brand olandese Scotch & Soda ha proposto la giusta alternativa alla classica pochette di seta, troppo impegnativa per giovani che vestono camicie in denim.
Discorso valido anche per ragazze abituate a "rubare" dall'armadio di lui, per un look più androgino e maschile.

For years this accessory, essential for class men who used to wear fine clothes in the 80's, has been set a little aside. 
Traying to decontextualize it, also its meaning is a little changed as a status symbol -a hallmark of safety and elegance-over time has become a more infomale accessory: casual elegance to a sporty outfit.
In these terms, the Dutch brand Scotch & Soda has proposed a right alternative to the classic silk handkerchief too serious for young people who wear denim shirts, but I am also referring to girls used to "steal" from the boyf's wardrobe for a more androgynous and masculine look.

Artist at work: Rob Pruitt for Jimmy Choo

Cerco sempre di astenermi dal raccontare la moda così come viene meticolosamente commentata, a volte, stressata dalle Fashion Bloggers.
Non posso, però, astenermi dall'annunciare le collaborazioni che nascono tra creativi. Queste sì che attirano l'attenzione.
In questo caso abbiamo, da una parte Robert o "Rob" Pruitt, artista contemporaneo di New York dalla vena giocosa e alquanto paradossale, dall'altra un certo Jimmy Choo, stilista malaysiano conosciuto in tutto il mondo per le famose, aggiungerei lussuose, scarpe femminili.
L'incontro tra i due artisti e lo scambio reciproco di idee, come solitamente avviene tra creativi tra una tazza e l'altra di caffè americano super diluito, è sfociato in una curiosa collaborazione che porterà, a partire dal prossimo Novembre, in tutte le boutiques monomarca Jimmy Choo, 19 modelli dell'attesissima Capsule collection.
Si parla di calzature, borse e piccola pelletteria dal gusto alquanto opinabile, forse più kich che chic, ma sicuramente eccentrica e giocosa grazie ad un Pruitt iconoclasta che ha saputo ben interpretare la collezione, imponendo il suo stile inconfondibilmente Pop e alquanto bizzarro: zebra glitterata e un panda declinato nelle due versioni Angel e Devil, sono l'emblema dell'artista, ma anche della doppia personalità della donna Jimmy Choo.
Il tutto ci si aspetta che venga realizzato con materiali esclusivi. Will see...
E il riscontro del pubblico-cliente?! Will see...



I always try to refrain myself from talking about fashion as it's, meticulously annotated, sometimes stressed by Fashion Bloggers. 
I can not, however, refrain from announcing partnerships that arise between creative people. These attract attention. 
In this case we have Robert or "Rob" Pruitt, contemporary artist from New York w a playful and paradoxical vein, on the other hand Jimmy Choo, Malaysian designer known, worldwide, for his famous, I'd add luxurious, women shoes. 
The encounter between the two artists and the mutual exchange of ideas, as usually occurs between creative among a cup of american coffee and the other, has resulted in a curious collaboration that will bring, from next November, in all Jimmy Choo mono-brand boutiques, 19 models of the long awaited Capsule collection. 
It's all about shoes, bags and small leather goods with a questionable taste, perhaps more kich than chic, but definitely eccentric and playful thanks to a iconoclast Pruitt who has been able to translate the collection, imposing his own style unmistakably Pop and bizarre: a glitter zebra and a panda declined in two angel and davil versions are the symbol of the artist, but also the dual personality of the Jimmy Choo woman. 
The entire collection is expected to be realized with exclusive materials. Will see ... 
And the response of the public-customer?! Will see ...

MARCO BORCIANI: the power of black&white images

Fiera di essere reggiana!.

Questo è il breve, ma significativo Incipit per introdurre Marco Borciani, giovane fotografo reggiano che ho iniziato ad apprezzare, lo scorso anno, in occasione di Fotografia Europea di Reggio Emilia.

"Passeggiate in città", questa la personale esposizione di Marco che ha attirato, più di tutte, la mia attenzione facendomi soffermare su immagini, per lo più in bianco/nero, dalla grande forza espressiva.
Una forza che, probabilmente, deriva dall'elegante semplicità di rappresentazione del racconto fotografico, non a caso quello che colpisce delle immagini di Marco, premettendo che le emozioni che la fotografia suscita sono strettamente personali, sono le scenografie semplici che vogliono raccontare angoli di città qualsiasi, spazi non solo caotici, ma anche dagli aspetti ironici e divertenti.
Il caos e le difficoltà di certe realtà cittadine vengono, volutamente, ironizzate grazie a partcolari costruzioni geometriche e rese, in questo modo, più umane ai nostri occhi.
Il catastrofismo sicuramente non gli appartiene, infatti ciò che si può percepire è piuttosto volontà di semplificazione del contenuto fotografico, voglia di trasmettere un pò di storia, cultura e tanta positività e non è cosa da poco di questi tempi ...aggiungerei!

Proud to come from Reggio Emilia.

This is the short, but significant Incipit to introduce Marco Borciani, young photographer from Reggio Emilia that I began to appreciate last year for the European Photography Festival in ReggioEmilia.

"Walking in the City", this is Marco's personal exposure that has caught my attention most of all, making me dwell on images, mostly black/white, with a great expressive power. 
A force that probably comes from the elegant simplicity of the photographic story's rapresentation, not by chance that affects of Marco's images, premising that emotions aroused by photography are strictly personal, are the simple sets that tell us something about the city, not only chaotic spaces, but also places told with irony and fun. 
Chaos and difficulties from some urban realities are purposely ironized with particular geometric constructions and made, in this way, more human to our eyes.
The doom certainly does not belong to him, in fact, what we can perceive is rather the attempt to simplify the photographic content, with the desire to transmit a bit of history, culture and a lot of positivity and it's not a trivial matter nowadays!
