The Beauty of the vague "I do not know."

I open my eyes, I see, I get excited and I share.
Taste the object,
empathize with the subject, contemplate the image.

ARTIST of THE WEEK: AUSTRA

Enjoy!

This week, my ears are literally captured, enchanted, troubled by the electronic melodies of AUSTRA!

Few will know them, but this Canadian electronic and new wave band, formed in 2009, has already a debut album, Feel it Break and three singles: Beat and Pulse (2010), Lose it (2011) and Spellwork (2011).

What enchants it is lead singer Katie Stelmanis’s classically trained voice.
Katie is a real opera singer who amazes us with melodies that could easily listen and dance, harmoniously, in some clubs scattered throughout the world.

Many fans of this genre will recognize in her voice a strong resemblance to the undisputed talent  Karin Dreijer Andersson,  the otherworldly frontwoman of the Knife.

As always, fans of the genre or not, listen to the single and judge for yourself, and if you are in New York these days, I inform you that AUSTRA open the XX concert to be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom!.

Enjoy!

WIDOWSPEAK's New Album: Almanac

Enjoy!

New album for the American indie-rock band Widowspeak.

The band formed in Brooklyn in 2010 and released their debut album, Widowspeak (Captured Tracks), exactly one year after-August 2011-to critical acclaim.
With this new album, called Almanac, the indie-rock and dream-pop trend continues to be a strong protagonist in the international music scene.
Soft and shimmering voice that of singer Molly Hamilton in which we relive, through her personal experiences, magical atmospheres with a taste of nostalgia, as indeed wants to be the tone of the new single Thick as Thieves.

Lovers or not of gloomy and ethereal's new wave sound, the Widowspeak also offer suggestions aimed at surfing on the West Coast around the 50's-60's and tex-mex blends that recall Tarantino's soundtracks.
It's good music anyway.

Enjoy!

COLOR IS MY FRIEND

Have you ever thought what colors can improve your look and yourself as well?

Looking at this color table* our eyes can get lost a bit, but only following a few basic rules we can prevent innocent oversights.

*Color system by Johannes Itten
We all know that some colors can "mortify" us or just don't give a radiant look. It's all about knowing how to identify them. It is not always easy and immediate, but just keep in mind these easy steps:

*On the one hand we must consider the color of the complexion: some colors are able to provide greater freshness and brightness than others. The skin color is definitely one of the most impotant face element that affect the right or wrong color.
*On the other, we must consider the social situations, such as the professional world, where some colors play an important role in conferring authority, such color blue.

From a stylistic point of view, considering that some women prefer to dress in solid color and others love to mix, the impact of risky combinations is certainly stronger.
From a natural colors point of view, however, the choice of contrasting colors (such as white and black, but not only) may be better suited to women with dark hair and eyes.
For those women with softest tones, is certainly to suggest attenuated colors contrast, also ton sur ton.

Here are some examples of color palettes to best improve the natural colors :

A.
Skin Phototype 1
Pale white skin, burns easily, blue eyes and blond hair.
Palette

blue sky with a touch of light silver and pink cyclamen.

B.
Skin Phototype 2
Fair skin, tans poorly but enough to be golden, blue eyes and blond/light brown hair.
Palette
Vitamin colors, such as purple, turquoise and yellow gold combined with cognac.

 C.
 Skin Phototype 3-4
Darker white skin and light brown skin with brown/gray eyes and brown hair.
Palette
Shades of brown combined with red coral.

D.
Skin Phototype 5-6
Brown skin and dark brown or black skin with dark brown/black hair and dark eyes.
Palette
Contrasting colors, such as black and white, combined with yellow and lilac.

 KEEP IN MIND:

The basic rule is that the color, in direct contact with the face, must be our friend!

Much Love  :)
